LOCAL PROJECTS

Seniors Comfort Packs
In partnership with the Golden Age Residence Residents' Council and the Nipissing District Housing Corporation, the Rotary Club of Nipissing is pleased to announce that it has distributed "Seniors' Comfort Packs" on Saturday March 27, 2021.  These "packs" are individual bags full of items to bring some additional comfort to residents at the Golden Age residence in North Bay.

Some items were purchased locally with others being donated or made by hand.  Rotary Nipissing is thankful for the artwork provided by students from St. Hubert's School as well as handwritten cards from Rotarians and residents from Empire Living.  In addition to the cards and artwork, the Golden Age residents will receive a book, a magazine, a sweet treat and handmade soap for fun as well as a small bottle of hand sanitizer and some facemasks for their health and safety.  Special thanks to local businesses, Allison the Bookman, The Farm, Good Glaze and Vaughan Paper Products for their participation in this project.

Praise from a resident of the Golden Age Residence:

I live in the Golden Age Towers on Worthington st in North Bay. After a very rough few days I stepped out of my apartment today to do some laundry, and on my door was a little brown bag, filled to the brim with notes and activities to make me smile! One picture coloured and signed by a child was a true delight! I just wanted to thank you and the Rotary Club for thinking of us during this difficult time of COVID! I loved the Rotary magazine as well! I am sending you a sincere thank you, Sir and tell you how much that little bag meant to me and my neighbours! And May I thank you as well for supporting NADY over all these years as well. Thank You!

Rotarians Deliver Love to Casselholme Residents and Staff ❤️

On February 14, 2021, the Rotary Club of Nipissing gifted each resident of Casselholme a card, a rose and chocolates as a special “thinking of you” project for Valentine’s Day. The Casselholme staff graciously delivered these gifts to each resident as COVID restrictions prevented the Rotarians from doing it personally.

Each staff member and administration received a Valentine’s card and boxes of chocolates and flower bouquets were delivered to each nursing station and the Administration office for all to enjoy.

Rotarian Lyn Vuorimaki initiated and coordinated this project for our club!
