Jul. 23, 2025 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Good Evening Nipissing Rotarians! We were invited by the North Bay club to participate with them in this event on Wednesday, July 23 from 6 to 9 pm. We have arranged a booth and it was agreed that we would share staffing duties with the other club. I will take care of set up and take down. We agreed to split the booth staffing into 2 shifts, with 2 Rotarians from each club per shift. Club members would be discussing Rotary projects in the area with judges and the general public and handing out small gift bags of sunflower seeds to plant or feed the wildlife. If you are available to assist here are the shifts: 1) 6 to 7:30pm 2) 7:30 to 9pm Please email, text or call me if you are able to take a shift at our booth. I think this is a terrific opportunity to showcase our club and Rotary's committment to the environment. Yours in Rotary Kevin Smith email: kevinwsmith@live.ca phone: 705-497-4123
Communities in Bloom judges tour The festival, held on Wednesday, July 23th from 6 pm to 9 pm , will serve as the capstone event for the Communities in Bloom judges tour and a celebration of our vibrant community. We are excited to showcase the incredible work being done by organizations like yours and invite you to host a table at the event. As a vital part of our community, your presence would provide an excellent opportunity to connect with the tour judges and community members, share your mission, and promote how individuals can engage with your organization. The event promises to attract a diverse and engaged audience, all while fostering a sense of unity and pride in our city. Details of the event:
Thank you for considering this opportunity to join us in celebrating our wonderful community. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Kind regards, Maggie Horsfield & Hariett Madigan

Good Day Fellow Rotarians Once again this year, we have been invited to participate in the Nipissing Student Union Resource Fair and BBQ. Our club has been represented the past 2 years and this is an excellent opportunity to introduce the staff and students to our Rotary Club as a potential for service. We have also signed up to be a partner in the university Volunteer Participation Certificate so those students interested in the Certificate can discuss ihow we can assist through involvement in our club. At this point, I am looking for expressions of interest from our members in taking a shift at our booth. Details to follow and I have enclosed the original invitation letter below. EVENT DATE & TIME: Tuesday, September 9 11:30am to 2:30pmLOCATION: NUSU Student Centre BuildingYours in Rotary Kevin Smith Original Invite: Hello & Happy Summer! It’s that time of year again where we start to plan our Welcome Back BBQ for all our students who return in the fall. We’ve begun to plan the logistics of this event and would like to invite you to join us again this year. The BBQ will be held at the NUSU Student Centre Building from 11:30-2:30 on Sept 9th. A BBQ will be available with alternative dietary options as well outside in the Courtyard (manned by the NUSU team) for students at $0 cost if they present a Nipissing Student ID Card.
This would operate the same as a resource fair where students can come in and meet professors in their program, community partners, student groups and services at Nipissing. We’re looking to recreate last year's event just in a new space! What we need from you folks at this time is to confirm that one (or two max due to large capacity) people from your department/program/team can attend the event and host a table. This would be the place to push any resources or information for the incoming year to students, and each student would receive a ‘passport’ of sorts encouraging them to talk to groups to be entered to win a draw. We’ve had really great success with this part of the program, so I'm excited to see it in action again! This event typically gains the traction of 1000+ students as it's essentially the one stop shop for everyone on campus and our external groups, so we would love to have you! Let us know if this date works for you, and if so a seating chart and more detailed information is to follow. Thank you so much in advance! |

Good Day Rotarians Canadore has organized an event very similar to the Nipissing University Volunteer Fair we are attending on Sept.9. The event is running over 2 days, Mon. Sept. 15 and Tues. Spet. 16. As many of you are aware, we have a terrific working relationship with Canadore including the Wayfinding Fundraiser and the student union purchased 50 tickets for Pints, Plaid and Poutine! This is another opportunity to futher strengthen that partnership. September 15 (1 to 4pm): Commerce Court Campus September 16 (9am to Noon): Main Campus at the front This invitation is for the Commerce Court Campus Only. I will send out another invite for the September 16 event. Please indicate if you can assist with staffing a table for this event. If I have enough volunteers I will try to split it into 2 shifts. Details are shown below:
I am writing to invite you to attend one or both of our upcoming Fall Volunteer Fairs. We’re doing things a little differently this year and will be hosting two half-day events:
Light refreshments will be provided, and each organization may send up to two representatives.
If your organization is interested in recruiting Canadore students for any of your volunteer opportunities, we’d love to have you join us.
